Anna has Arrived!

Our sweet baby girl, Anna Elise, arrived on January 7th at 9:51am. She weighed in at 7lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches long.

The hour I went into labor (midnight), Jesse came down with horrible food poisoning. He ended up vomiting over 15 times until he was too dehydrated to drive me to the hospital. With myself in active labor and Jesse lying half-dead on the bathroom floor, I tearfully called our friends, the Koskis, at 3am to see if they could drive us to the hospital. Thank goodness for good friends! When we arrived at the hospital, which is 45 minutes away from our house, I told the lady at the front entrance that Jesse needed to go to the ER and I needed Labor & Delivery. Jesse got taken in a wheel chair to the ER. I walked to Labor & Delivery. It was a little scary at the time, but thankfully, after 3 liters of fluids, Jesse was well enough to accompany me during my labor when I was at about 6cm dilated. He didn't miss Anna's arrival a couple hours later! The nurses must have had a good laugh at us. Now, we can laugh, too.

Thank you Daniel and Tanya for transporting us in the middle of the night to the hospital! And thank you Tanya for getting me through the first several hours of labor while Jesse was MIA! :)

Anna is now 2 and a half weeks old and doing great! We're still working on the difference between daytime and nighttime, as she likes to keep her mom up all night and then blissfully sleep during the day. She is eating well though and gained a pound the first week after her discharge from the hospital. We feel very blessed and in awe of the beautiful baby girl that God gave us!
